Just heard the news

I'd heard that he'd had to cancel a few shows recently but so shocked to hear that he has died

I agree it is weird. If you are a certain age like me 50ish it's getting seriously worrying. All the people you know and grew up listening/ watching etc are dying like flies. Sad to say I think poor Brucie will be next.

So so sad.

 

Me and hubby went to see him in a relatively small venue and were near the front. He was such a show man. Brilliant evening and he bought surprise guests - the one I remember was chaka chan. (Sp) he sang nothing compares to u just with him playing piano.

I think he was amazing. A huge talent, an innovative performer, a complete showman who wrote music that will last forever.

 

He also wrote 'Manic Monday' by The Bangles & 'I feel for You' by Chakka Khan, as well as the haunting 'Nothing Compares To You'.

 

Just totally gutted that this musical genius has gone
