There should have been a number twenty.....the car will not be packed anything like that on the way back, in fact its highly likely that everything wont fit in, it will be like a krypton factor test trying to get it in and you will probably have to leave stuff behind.

Sods law that the tent is always wet when you come to pack it up again and needs to be dried otherwise will go mouldy. Had some horrendous camping trips and were put off for life. Probably better abroad but in UK never again. Number 21 a should be don't drink whilst in charge of a tent - as when you all have to sleep in the car cos the tents let in water in the monsoon and the kids have left their DS thingy in there and demand you rescue it and you can't find point of entry as you're squiffy and you look like a cross of an extra from Glastonbury and cast of the Titanic ( not Kate Winslet never again. Very funny though.

That's my '70s childhood, right there in that list

One year we were packing up and my father had reached and surpassed the swearing stage long ago. He'd got most of it in the boot of the car, which was rammed, when my mother produced a bottle of washing up liquid with about 1cm left in it. "Can we get this in?", she asked. "If not I'll chuck it".

She should have known better.

My dad had that look about him by now, that one says "this is not going to beat me. Ever." He fitted in the washing up liquid bottle.

Fast forward several hours driving from France back to UK. Upon our return the 1cm of washing up liquid had escaped from the bottle and had managed to cover absolutely everything in the boot. Including the tent, which then had to be re-erected in the garden and carefully hosed off. Much more swearing occurred.
