I am trying to find a neutraliser and sanitiser for our chicken run please? I do hose it down and deepoo but struggling to find something for the smell etc despite deepooing every day. We do not get much rain so would like to find something.

Wow thank you. That was a quick response! Does it do both? Does it work the same as DE? Looks similar.

Ive never used DE and I certainly use this in the same way others use DE (put it in the dust bath etc), but I don't know for a fact it does the same job.

 

It smells very pleasant

Hmm, DE doesn't seem to help with odouriser.

I use both, I sprinkle dround sanitiser around where the eat and DE in the nest box and in all the crevices of the cube. If they have messy knickers I puff DE abound there bottoms, especially if it's warm and there are flies about...fly strike is petrifying

Getting DE near them atm is not easy! I am using it in their nest boxes and in dirt areas. That way at lesst they are getting a little.

DE isn't for sanitising the run or housing - Ground Sanitising Powder is for that

Sorry, maybe I wasn't clear...I use the ground sanitizer for the floor and eating area's but DE not to sanitise but to deter nasties, a natural pesticide if you will:) a little puff gets into all the nooks and crannies

I use a sprinkle of Nettex in the trays of my cube. Is it ok to compost the droppings as they have Nettex on them and I don't want to kill off the good insects eg worms in my compost heap. Any advice? Thank you

It's fine, i always compost it, and it makes lovely compost.

Have received my container of Nettex today. Seems to have made a difference already, although cannot speak for the prevention of flies eggs and nasties etc but no problems with odours although is early days. Thanks for the heads up on this product
