I wondered, has anyone concidered planting Poncetias ? This is something i buy every year and there normally £10.00- £20.00 each! i need about 12 aswell!

I buy mine for about £5-£6 , so I reckon you have been paying a lot for yours!

Try a garden centre that has trays of baby ones to grow on.................

yeh thinking about it i get the bigger ones, mostly in nice pots etc. i think ill buy plastic potted ones, and decoraste the pots!

I think they are pretty hard to grow, so buying medium ones & making the pot look pretty is a good idea.

 

Last year & bought one & got a peice of sheer gold fabric that I found in a remnent bin, wrapped the pot in that & tied it with plain raffia. It looked gorgeous & much more expensive that it actually was

 

I prefer Christmas Cactus to Pointsettias in my own house as I always see to kill off the Pointsettias

I looked into trying to get a poinsettia to flower again once. It's a really long winded and fiddly process if I remember rightly.

We still have a pointsettia from last Christmas and it is flourishing at the moment which is surprising as it is still in the same pot and has just been stuck on the kitchen windowsill......not too bothered if it doesn't flower, I just couldn't bear to bin it!

I think you have to keep them in a dark cupboard to promote the red flower.

I have bought some cyclamens for the garden this week to brighten up my tubs etc.
