Chicken bald back

Hi

My youngest girl, Flavia, is a Favorelles/Orpington cross who is about 18 months old and was a late bloomer shall we say. She's had a full moult last July/Aug and was laying until end of Dec. She is now moulting her tail and neck feathers which I've not seen before. Has anyone else experienced this mini moult, all of my other girls just do a normal Autumn moult?

Merel resembled a tiny turkey late November, with bald head and neck and no tail. (Dutch bantam have a huge tail compaired to their tiny bodies.)

Ginger has never looked bald anywhere but I just find copious amounts of ginger feathers everywhere. Any season will do for her... She started doing this a week ago again.

Moulted late summer / Autumn, laid for a while through until Christmas, but since then has moulted her head and neck feathers.

 

She's started to crouch again now though and her comb is very red, so hopefully eggs again soon

Mine have no rules about moulting. One of my 3 Colombian black tails resembled a rescue hen in December. Her sisters were still laying. Oh and they go broody they just haven't read the rule books!

Leentje tried being broody two weeks ago. Then discovered it was a tat too cold... dumb thing already plucked her breast and all
