Luvachicken
Oh mullethunter, what have you done to my bank balance Having seen your run with those woodchips we set off this morning to go and get some from FlytesoFancy. We decided it was better value for money to drive and get them than pay the postage costs. And of course they sell lots of other chicken goodies, not just for the chickens, but for us too - so we bought a new tea pot. I did like their chicken runs even though they were wooden but they looked extremely well made. They were all very friendly there and extremely helpful. Going to be busy tomorrow, need to get the girls out of the way, clean their floor, leave it to dry a bit with some sanitiser on it and then put my new woodchips down. Need to do it all tomorrow as Monday is meant to be awful. I really hope I have done the right thing. It has been an expensive day including lunch in a nice pub Beautiful scenery all around too. mullethunter
A thread with my name in the title But oh, sorry Luvachicken I really hope you're pleased with the woodchip - I certainly am with mine. Hope you get a nice dry day for the swap over. And there's never a bad day for a trip to a new place, a new teapot and a pub lunch
Valkyrie
Dorchester is a good place to mooch around - we love Maiden Castle for a good walk around. Or on windy days a blow around. I didn't realise Flytes was there though. I know the Devon rare breeds chickens moved to Dorchester and visited them a few years ago when they were just getting settled. 2 lavender araucanas had escaped (regularly) and were happily mooching around, male and female. They said that the birds had a regular patrol area so weren't worried as they never wandered far.
Grandmashazzie
Sounds like a great day out. I love my Flyte so fancy run,as when put on paving slabs its rodent proof.
Luvachicken
A busy day although not as sunny as I was hoping. I swept all of their floor and got rid of the poop and emptied their digging pits of leaves. Hubby blasted it all with the pressure washer. A quick bit of Stalosan and then down went the woodchips They smelt nice. I used 7 of the 10 bags that I'd bought. I hope they like it. They didn't seem too keen on it until I sprinkled a few treats top It will be interesting to see where they are in the morning when I get up. mullethunter
I reckon it might not all be exactly where you left it! I'm sure mine watch me clean out and put it all neatly thinking to themselves 'Why's she putting it there? We'll have to sort that out'. Which they do Glad it went well. Luvachicken
I reckon it might not all be exactly where you left it! I don't think mine have worked out that they can dig the woodchip All they've done so far is poop on it and walk on it
