Egluntyne
This is fascinating to watch if you have a few minutes to spare. ~Click~
Daphne
I know it's only nature red in tooth and claw, but I so wanted the moose to escape. How gripping and how beautiful
Valkyrie
We always go with the underdog don't we! Same here. A short while ago I heard these awful "screams" coming from the front garden. It was a starling on it's back with a sparrowhawk on top. I think the hawk must have been young because it was a very bad kill and he had to scrabble to get the starling properly. In all it took almost 10 minutes although it felt more like half an hour with me wanting to go and rescue the starling. But then it's nature and that sparrowhawk has to feed itself. Hopefully it will perfect it's hunting skills. Then again a couple of days ago I was just coming up the garden from letting the girls out and feeding my lovely blackbird halfway up. The blackbird scuttled past me closely followed by Mrs Blackbird. She was being followed by a hawk who wasn't looking at me and didn't notice until I could have reached out and touched it! It swerved at the last second and flew into our oak tree! Stayed there and gave me a dirty look while all the birds kicked off (including the girls ) then flew in the direction of the woods. I may have caught a few flies in my mouth! Then went back indoors - I called out to OH (oblivious of it all) and said "now that's what I call a close encounter!" Sorry Will Smith, but mine was real!
