soapdragon
What is all this about Some retailers seem to make it last a week or more and others look as though they are using it as an excuse to offload as much as poss before Christmas! Are there any real bargains to be had or does this just go to show what I have suspected for some considerable time...namely that we are all being vastly overcharged for everything anyway I shall stay away from the shops this weekend as I find the whole consumer feeding frenzy really quite vomiticious; I'm sure we don't really need all this gubbins anyway! Bah, humbug!Must be getting old
Valkyrie
Dunno. I guess if there are things you are interested in and you know the usual price, then you might find a bargain or two. Otherwise some things (like expensive fabrics for us fabricoholics) sometimes are reduced over 50% - which is fine for stash building. I have enough stash to open a shop, but you can use such stuff formerly costing over £12 per metre now reduced to anything between £2 and £5 as inexpensive backing to quilts and therefore worth it. No way would I go to town for it. Come to think of it I hate going to town at most times. Actually I hate shopping anyway. This was started up by a certain retailer and everyone cottoned on and soon it became black Friday soon becoming a week - extending to black Monday now! I wonder if they'll turn it into Black Month! Sort of goes with Bonfire Night now being regarded as Guy Fawkes Week - roll up roll up get your fireworks here! I can just imagine C my OT Dibbler with his few wares (and his rat on a stick snacks) wishing he'd thought of this first. You can always be a rebel and poke your tongue out and ignore it all - I'm fed up with retailers spoiling things. Bah humbug from me too. Cat tails
I have to admit I have a strange unsatisfied feeling, not really finding a real bargain. Haven't bought anything either, but mostly because I found the sales disappointing.
