mullethunter
I love blood oranges (or ruby red oranges as Asda are now calling them ) but I’ve never done any5ing with them other than eat them. I’ve looked in the internet and the only recipe I can see that I like the look of is one for a blood orange custard tart thing or sorbet. Does anyone do anything else with them or know what blood orange marmalade is like and have a good recipe for it?
Luvachicken
My Mum used to make a lovely cake with ground almonds, oranges and dried apricots. I'm sure you could use your blood oranges in it. I'll see if I can find the recipe - but things have disappeared since we did the kitchen

The Dogmother
You could make a variation on a drizzle cake with ground almonds
mullethunter
DM!!! That's it! I'm going to do that at the weekend I'm also going to attempt to marmalade some but (although I've done jam before) I've never done it before and it sounds like a mission! Luvachicken
Finally found it 6 oz softened butter 6 oz caster sugar grated zest of 1 orange 3 eggs - lightly beaten 6 oz S.R flour 4 oz ground almonds 5 oz chopped dried apricots 2 tbsp of the juice of the orange 4 oz split almonds 2 tbsp demerara sugar Pre heat oven 160/170 fan Line 8" round cake tin Cream the butter and caster sugar until light and fluffy. Add beaten eggs a little at a time - add a bit of flour if it curdles. Fold in remaining flour, ground almonds, chopped apricots and the orange juice. Stir in half of the split almonds and spoon the mixture into the tin. Make a slight dip in the centre then sprinkle the rest of the split almonds and the demerara sugar over the top. Bake for 1 hr to 1 hr 15 mins. Enjoy I haven't made one of these for ages. Might have to make one in half term next week
