The Dogmother
Madam travelled back from uni in Edinburgh on Friday; she was expected in just after 5pm, normally a 5.5 hour journey. She finally arrived 9 hours later, tired, hungry and desperate for some peace. I see that it's in the news. I am encouraging her to facebook or email them to claim compensation Really NOT good enough
GrannyTrish
She's entitled to compensation since she was over 30 minutes late as long as she's kept her ticket/s. https://www.crosscountrytrains.co.uk/customer-service/contact-us/delay-repay I used to travel quite a lot on the East Coast line and frequently claimed for delays. The Dogmother
Thanks Trish, I have forwarded that on to her She was texting me at the time; it sounded as if they had taken a 'wrong turning', and then had to wait at one of the stations
Valkyrie
It's was Jesse James gang - they changed the points to rob an earlier train. Joking aside that's not on especially with the heat. Somebody didn't switch the tracks back. Hope she does get compensation big time for that - and the other travellers.
soapdragon
That is outrageous, DM. Trust Rosie is going for the jugular on this one? I hate how there big companies etc think that it doesn't matter about 'the little people' (who are actually keeping them going) but, the more we hold them accountable and the more money they have to pay out then the more they should realise that it's just not on to treat people like this! Rosie is entitled to compo.......shame that the train peeps don't make it easy! Still, must be lovely to have your girl home again! How much dirty washing did she bring with her? I have a friend whose son struggled back from Exeter with vast amounts of niffy grundies etc as he thought it was easier than organising the washing himself.....doh! However, my mate Nellie has left him in no doubt that IT IS NOT!
The Dogmother
Thanks all, she has applied for a refund. I will keep you posted i lost count, but I think it was 5 or 6 loads of washing, and that's just what was in her case. The rest of her stuff is in storage. At least they will have their own washing machine in the new flat, rather than the (usually broken) shared ones in the basement of their halls. I am driving her up at the end of June to move them in and help out.
