Snowy
We usually all gang together at Christmas - I love having everyone at mine. I don't mind doing the catering, then I can put my PJs on and slob afterwards - can't do that at someone elses house I find they usually ask if there's anything they can bring - I have a list of the things that would be useful, ie veg from Dads garden, a pudding from Stepmum, booze from the brother. Just make sure you don't get stressed about it - not worth it. If they can't take you as they find you, tough! I just expect to do all the catering and any offers of help are a bonus (there are usually loads of offers though). There's usually about fifteen (including us). Great fun. theherd123
I wont be getting stressed about it - just drunk! As well as not having enough place setting, or chairs, or glasses.......... I think i have a solution! Each guest needs to bring; 1 chair, 1 tray, a knife, fork, spoon and a glass - if they come without then they dont get fed or watered! Jules.
Bist du Deutsch, Christian? That's a bit informal Jules. Well, since we have chatted so much on the forum I thought I could use the familiar "you"!

Born and brought up here in the UK. If you want to chat to someone in German, PM Martin! He loves the language We had a long debate about it on here a while ago My written German is truly awful. Haven't written a thing for so long, but i speak it ok! Am actually in Duesseldorf as I write this! Spooky!! Back on topic - who me, going off topic??? I am getting worried about how little I have for Christmas!! Not at all organised this year. We have to go out soon and blitz the credit card

I actually have a trachten kleid mit dirndl (traditional Austrian dress & corset style top)!!!!! And I do also have photos! I used to live in Salzburg Austria, but I have also lived in Bavaria in Entrischenbrunn, a small hamlet close to Pfaffenhoffen and not too far from Ingolstadt. We lived in fields of Hops! I really miss laugen brezen (bread pretzel) and also hagebutten marmelade! ( rosehip jam) Oh and the sausages!!!! Kasekrainer - lovely, lovely! (sausage with chese in the middle) Mmmmmmmmmm The beer is also fantastic! The best! We did a beer festival for our friends here in England, whilst on a caravan holiday! Was very funny! I will try & find some photos. Enjoy lovely Germany. Emma.x

Ana's flock
But you are far too late to put the sprouts on - you should have started boiling them at Easter LOL! that explains the taste of English pub vegies...! no wonder I get told I hardly show the water to mine...! My British friends and family keep saying I serve them barely cooked veg, the good thing is that you can re-heat and re-heat a few times - I suppose by the 5th or 6th serving they are about right...? (or the kids just eat them out of pure boredom and desperation...)
