AyeAyeMagpie
Hello, just a quick question for those with wood chip in enclosed runs. How do you stop your chickens from scattering the wood chip through the mesh of the run? Every week I'm having to sweep it back up again, which is a hassle and will become impossible when we lay aggregate in that area of the garden in spring. I can't decide what the best method of keeping it in would be.
The Dogmother
Stick some kickboards along the bottom; I have them and the Aubiose stays firmly in the run.
Patricia W
I use log roll sold in garden centres. I’ve also used plastic lawn edging. Anything like that will work
The Dogmother
Tanalised timber secured along the bottom of the run, or old railway sleepers will also be fine. I have used plastic lawn edging and cable ties in the past, but it tends to perish after a couple of years.
