ajm200
Wondering if these are really deep enough to use as a covered dustbath? https://www.flytesofancy.co.uk/chickenhouses/Poultry-Palace-Sheltered-Nester.html The flowerpot currently in the run is constantly spilling over and making a real mess of the woodchip. Did think about cutting the side out of a covered plastic box but think the plastic is likely to get brittle
mullethunter
Looks like it’d be good. I use an old car tyre (a big one from an Audi not a small one from my Fiesta).
Luvachicken
I have a purple one of these, also from Flyte so Fancy. They don't use it much but I think that's because they have filled it up with woodchips. It does offer all round protection from the weather though. I need to sort it out for them. They sell them at Rokers ajm
suzallie
Hi, It looks good - but pricey. I actually used my old plastic cat carrier (which seems to be the same shape and size as this) as an exclusion extra home while my chook was getting used to newbies. It was really useful, and she settled in it nicely for a couple of nights.I am now thinking (having seen your link) - this could make a nice little dust bather... and cheaper too! In the extended run, we have used a plastic potting thing - but I have to say, they often dust bathe by it, behind it..everywhere but in it!! The Dogmother
They sell those at Cotswold Chickens and people buy them for dust baths I use an old (cracked) Belfast sink with wood ash in it.
