Jamie's new book!

Recommended Posts

Jimmy Doherty has a new book out too. I saw him on This Morning last week. Philip Schofield said he'd written quite a lot in his book on the welfare of Hens. :D:D:D so your stall there has obviously had a big and beneficial effect Buffie! :D

Well, I didn't catch the beginning of the section but they were definitely talking about a book - maybe it was just the paperback version.

I'll see what i can find out!

Here's a link to the This morning site. It says the book is an accompaniment to the second series, so maybe I'm wrong. It's called 'A taste of the country' and includes lots of recipes. £14.99

I think you're right Gooner Girl. The book was published hardback in March 2006 and last month in paperback - 27th September 2007.

Sorry to have got your hopes up!

Eggs will have to cost whatever they cost to produce. We cannot shut animals in cages because our food is cheaper that way. That is wrong.

I am an avid believer in this. Cheap food means cost-cutting and I don't want it. I want to pay a fair price for my food, wherever it comes from.

Sadly though, there are lots of people who either can't or won't pay extra for food that has been more humanely reared. While there is the option to buy food from questionable sources at cheaper prices there will always be a market for it. :(

One day every hen will be free range and this publicity can only help - good on ya Jamie & Jimmy! :D:D

Where are we going to put all these hens? :?

That's why I think forms of Battery Farming will never be wiped out, it's uneconomical for the farmer and the country.

Ginette is absolutely right Martin, of course there is a way and the cage will become a thing of the past. It's not uneconomic, we simply all have to pay the price for welfare friendly eggs.

BBx :D
