Guest
Well, champagne for you, fizzy apple for Gina and I, but I feel the need to raise a glass and celebrate! Yes, the hospital confirmed what the GP thought, and I have an infected duct (yuck, I know), so have had it drained (vvvvvvvvv sore ), and have to go back in 4 weeks to get it checked to make sure the infection has cleared up. I'm so happy and relieved, despite the pain I am now in, so please all help yourselves to a glass of champers, and some G&B's, only make sure you leave some for Chookiehubbie or he'll complain! CHEERS!!!!
Mel (& Paul)
What WONDERFUL news. I am so very pleased for you and your family. I will join you in that champagne (well, a cup of coffee now and champagne later!!) Cheers
Guest
Excellent news Shona. Sorry it's so painful, but you can relax now and enjoy the prospect of another bundle of joy! I like your location! Hopefully you'll move somewhere more pleasant soon
Guest
I like your location! Hopefully you'll move somewhere more pleasant soon I hope so, but if my last pregnancy was anything to go by, I'll still be throwing up while in surgery getting the bean hauled out! Mrs Frugal
Terrific news about the lump, Shona. I'm SOOOOO pleased for you! I hope you don't get morning sickness this time - why they call it morning sickness is beyond me! Morning, noon, afternoon, evening and night sickness is more accurate! Big hugs to you and the little bean. xx
SarahJo
Cheers Shona .. and Bean . Have another bottle in the fridge here, so for anyone who misses the 1st fizz ...... great news, and I am now feeling a tad broody.
Guest
SarahJo said: and I am now feeling a tad broody. Mmmmmm. . . . me too. I just love babies, but I don't think I could manage another pregnancy. Much too tiring. We've often thought of offering ourselves for fostering babies - the short-term kind. Not done anything about it yet though, but maybe as our own troop off to university etc and we have a spare room most of the time, maybe that would be the right time. Meanwhile I'll keep dreaming of that lovely feeling of having a baby in your arms!

Guest
what about their toes Yes and those dear little hands! What are you trying to achieve Mel? 4 children is plenty. More was tempting a while ago but it's 7 yrs, 9 months since I had my last! It wouldn't be fair to start again. We'd be pensioners by the time 'it' left home! Mind you, I'd have lots of babysitters to help out!
SarahJo
I like the way they "snuffle" for food .. or their hands, when they are hungry .. that sort of trying to suck their hands but missing . Oh, and the way they lie with arms above their heads ...... better go and open that nice cold bottle of Moet .
Lesley
That Moet could get you into all sorts of trouble Sarah Thank goodness I'm nearly too old I'll share in the G&Bs with you Shona - excellent news, and just in time for Christmas
Cate in NZ
I love the fact that babies don't argue, answer back or slam doors However given the fact that even the cutest of babies turns into a teenager I am most definitely NOT broody, and with two (mostly) wonderful children, and a fair sprinkling of grey hairs, all of which I attribute to my little darlings, I have no desire to embark on pregnancy again- ever. That said I cherish a dream that when my children are older and need me around less, and we can run our lives with 2 shift-working parents that I will be able to return to my midwifery career. One shift on post-natal nights, trust me, that'd erase any broodiness for anyone But, brilliant news Shona, so glad that it was only an infected duct, I'm sorry it's so painful right now, but that'll ease And I'll happily join you in a glass of champagne... or 2, that is if Mrs Nesbitt has left any
The Dogmother
I love their little starfish hands too Great news Shona - I am so relieved for you, I think that we've all been holding our breath Sorry about the sore boobie though. I had two babies to cuddle last weekend when we had a massive family party at my P's. One of my cousins has 4 month old twins (one of each) and they are sooo cute. One wouldn't stop crying, so I picked her up and she just stopped (can't imagine why Rosie never did that ),a dn I had a nap with the baby. Phil was , and more . I think he thanks his lucky stars that I shan't be having any more. I do so love that smell though, and they make you ache with their little noises too..... Guest
Sorry about the sore boobie though. The boys kept launching themselves at me this afternoon, not quite appreciating the pain it caused, and Caitlin kept poking it saying 'mummy got sore boobaloo!!!' and laughing! Rotters - can't beleive I'm having another one, little brats that they are..... Hard to believe (given my current situation!), but I haven't felt broody since Caity was born - Not quite sure how I got into this predicament! The Dogmother
It was obviously meant to be The sore boobie thing reminds me of the first few days breastfeeding when it is agony Take care of the big kiddies and the little bean too. Hugs to you. CX

Mel (& Paul)
I do love babies (and dont mind children really) I love the babies heads and toes and little fingers etc., but dont want any of my own so am happy to fuss over other peoples and give them back at the end of the day and stick with chooks and dogs
Chunkin
I like the way you can eat chocolate in their company and they don't eat it all/make you feel like a fat pig for not sharing - teenagers can smell it a mile off! Sorry, a bit late with this, but congrats Shona - it's great news that everything is fine (if sore at the mo ). Hope you get to enjoy the rest of the pregnancy!
