Tweety
Hi everyone, Yesterday, I made a run for my 4 bantams using the Omlet netting, which has been very successful with my bigger chooks. It never occurred to me that the bantams are small enough to walk straight through the netting, but that is exactly what they did! They are now back in temporary confinement in the eglu run, and I am trying to think of ways to stop them repeating their great escape. The only solution I have come up with is to put some chicken wire along the bottom of the netting all the way round the run. Any brilliant ideas would be gratefully received. Thanks in advance. Snowy
Oh dear Tweety Shouldn't laugh but I can just imagine them thinking how inconvenient and popping straight through the holes! Another member had the same problem. She did end up putting an extra layer of mesh around the bottom. Hope you get sorted!
Tweety
thanks Snowy. It was very funny - and rather alarming - to see them just walk straight through the netting without batting an eyelid! Anyway, a visit to Wickes seems to have solved the problem, fingers crossed.
Rabbieboy
My Fayoumi used to walk through the netting and the other three, big girls, just flew over it even though their wings are clipped.
Jules.
Buzz keeps escaping through the netting somehow, either under or over it. Poppy doesn't escape into the garden, she launches herself from the top of the run onto the garden fence
