Ain't Nobody Here
I tried out Milly, Molly & Mandy on my kids (for chicken names, not their names!) but they'd never heard of it & didn't like Mandy - we settled for Milly, Molly & Maisie. Have a look at some of the signatures on the forum - there are some inspired choices there.
chocolatedog
I'd thought of Milly Molly and Mandy for my 3 girls at first as I loved that book when I was younger, but plumped for Ginger Pepper and Spice instead as it reflects their colourings. Guest
DH wants to give them 'old lady' names like Beryl, Mavis, Mildred etc (apologies to anyone with those names) I quite fancy calling one of them Maud, in the morning I could say 'Come into the Garden Maud' I know! I'll call one Maud, one Mariana and I'll have to search thru some more Tennyson to get the other name, perfect!!!! Why didn' I think of that before LMAO **edit** Fatima is a possible for the third name
Guest
If only The Lady of Shallot had had a name (that was my favourite of his poems) oh well. I suppose I could call one of them Shallot but that's a bit like calling it Paxo! it would be amusing to introduce thrm by saying "This is Maud, this is Mariana and that's Shallot!" and people would say "but what's the 3rd one called?" bronze
that must be the worst pun I've heard this year
Tina C
It is a bad pun but I think The Lady of Shallot is a lovely name for a chicken (and I love the poem too)
Guest
"The Lady of Shallot" too much of a mouthful. Think we'll stick with Maud, Mariana and Fatima
Egluntyne
Fatima! That's certainly different.
Guest
Atilla, now there's a thought I could always go with Carmen, Tosca and Aida! or sticking with the literary theme, any one of these http://www.yachtsee.com/boatnamesshakespeare.htm maybe; Mopsa, Dorcas and Perdita... now this is becoming interesting! Egluntyne
There is always Goneril Regan and Cordelia. I might save those for another time. An acquaintance of mine has 3 rescued girls and as they were what she deemed "tragic heroines" and she is a trained opera singer (retired - not famous!), they are called Lakme, Violetta and Mimi. Rather lovely I think.
Guest
that is rather lovely with me being a poet, I think I'll go with those Tennyson inspired names. Well, in a roundabout way, thanks everyone for helping me to come to a decision! Edited October 13, 2007 by Guest
