SueSteve
Hi, We have had our girls for just over 2 weeks, we have a purple cube and 4 hens. We have noticed that they will no longer drink out of the glug! They prefer to drink rain water out of a frisbee! They have got worse and worse over the week, and now will not drink out of the glug at all! I have startd giving them water in a bowl, and in the mornings they go mad and race towards the bowl. I am now thinking about lowering the glug so that they can drink out of the top. I have wodnered if the glug does not give them enough water in one mouthful, as it comes out in drips, and it isn't worth the effort! Has anyone else had this problem? Chickybaby
My chickens very rarely use their glug and I have it really low down for them. They seem to prefer drinking from the bird bath and even from the dog's bowl! I wouldn't worry about it, as long as they are getting water from somewhere they will be fine. Egluntyne
I just have the bog standard glugs, and my girls do drink from them......but they would all far rather drink from a muddy puddle any day!
ubereglu
If they don't want to drink out of the glug how about buying a water container like this one: They can hold 5 litres of water and are £2.59 from Mole Valley Farmers, you can order online here Hope that helps. chickweed
My chooks wash their feet in the glug and also poo in it. They also have no qualms about drinking from it afterwards.
