This is going to be complicated, so bear with me.....

I want a cube, but I want it to be out of our hand made hen pen,so I can clean it & collect the eggs without going into the pen.

But the hen pen is in 2 parts - a larger section with my big girls in & a smaller bit attatched for the Bantams.

Naturally, the only place for the Cube to go in next to the Bantam half of the pen

It is to the left of the area with the daughters in,in the photo.

The Big hens are in the side with the green Eglu.

The Hubby is pretty handy & he reckons he can build a walkway at cube door height through the Bantam pen & into my hen pen. It would be covered in wire to stop any of them actually getting into the Bamtam pen.

What do you think - can you teach an old hen new tricks & get her to use a little 'chennel tunnel' to get to the cube?

I'm sure that you can  it would be so funny, as I have this image in my head of the bigger chooks clomping across and the bantams doing a "What's that clip clopping across my bridge" kind of look, as in three Billy goats gruff :lol: Gosh reading that back I need to get out more :oops:

I think it would be a very good idea by the way, but wouldn't it make walking around in the bantam run difficult :?

I don't think it will, as it will be over at the back, so pretty out of the way.

The alternative is to move the shed that is on the right of the pen to that area & put the Cube where the shed is now, but The Hubby isn't too keen on that idea (probabaly as its more work  )
