Letters to santa for teenagers!

Recommended Posts

When my kids stopped believing in FC it was one of the worst things that ever happened to me as a parent. I had had years of exemplary behaviour on the run up to Xmas due to their conviction that the Elves lived in the skirting board and reported back to Santa on a daily basis. Good times. Now they just ask me for loads of electronic conversation-killing gear which I dont buy, then Grandma gives them wodges of cash..........

My kids are 15, 14 and 6 year old twins so the task of trying to keep 'you know who' a part of Xmas is quite difficult. I have to really threaten the older ones not to blurt out 'the truth'. I know it won't be much longer but want to keep it going for as long as possible for the reasons you mentioned Rhapsody! Especially the whole electronic games thing , which incidentally was the entire content of my sons' Xmas list, I'm trying to keep my little ones away from them for as long as possible!

Going back to the subject of letter writing don't you love getting a letter? It's so much nicer than an email or text. Technology is useful for business but there's so much more feeing in a letter, isn't there?

LOL Ziggy

Of course you can BUY a letter from santa on Ebay.

One of the kids in my class has written a list cos his parents "but rubbish" if he doesn't give them an exact specification.

By rubbish he means that they don't shop around and buy the better brands (Better quality) but tend to spend a lot of money buying things which are not well thought of.

He is a total techy geek - his parents are technophobes. He wants some computer equipment, but he wants the right stuff!

:D Penguin, that sounds like my husband.... I can never buy anything for him as a surprise, as the hints to find out what he wants EXACTLY can't be subtle...

Had a thought, why don't you forget ebay and blackmail Santa with the wii's you have? I think he must be desperate by now

I hope you don't mind the joke... :D

About Santa himself, please guys keep things subtle... my seven year old looks on here occasionally and well.... I'm sure you can guess what I'm trying to say, thanks for being considerate... I hope I'm not being bossy...

Now that's an idea Ziggy. Santa phones me every Monday night to see how well James has been behaving. It was a bit wobbly for a while and he got put on the naughty list but he's back on the nice list now

Believe it or not we manage to use this ALL YEAR! One of Santas Reindeer lives in James' room and reports back any problems. Oh and of course when you are out and about Santa's spotters are everywhere.

Santa is very strict with James too, even if he is on the naugthy list he only gets presents if he puts out some old toys on Christmas Eve for Santa to send to the charity shop...

What an organised Santa... I'm in admiration...

I think by the time he gets to Oxfordshire, he has got tired (or maybe too many glasses of port left out for him  )...

Well maybe I suppose with a fourth daughter still in her baby years I have my own toy recycler :D

I'll have to remind Santa of his charity recycling a couple of years down the line though, thanks for the tip

OMG Ziggy

James ALWAYS leaves Port out

I used to leave brandy or whiskey out (funny how they turned out to be my parents favourite tipples  )

Thants to Lighterlife though Port is off the menu for me this year. Good job I'm not Santa!

If it was all up to me and not trying to appear reasonable in front of the kids, I'd leave the whole bottle out

Though come to think of it, you should drop a line to Santa about Lighterlife, he is not reknowned for his fit, trim proportions... Grab him as he come down the chimney and have a word with him, will you

Reminds me of when James and I went to the woods at Jimmy's - we weer looking out for fairies.. so lovely; although Rosie sort of doesn't believe any more, but wants to, it was nice to have a little believer with me.. I still believe in fairies and magic!
