Snowy
OK I can't find it. There was a post not so long ago about PC protection free to download. Can anyone remember it? Sorry, I can't find it! I was going to renew Bullguard when it expired but it's £36 Was it AVG? Anyone got a link? Please!
Olly
Yes, it's AVG - I use it and I think it's very good. I got it from http://free.grisoft.com/
Joojoo
Hi Snowy It was me that replied to a thread of Cinnamons. Go to the AVG website http://free.grisoft.com/ and follow the instructions for free download. You can also get the spyware and something else there free too. Very good software - just make sure that you set the preferences to update when you switch your PC on. Then it keeps the virus definitions up to date as new ones appear constantly. Good Luck. If you struggle with it, PM me and I'll talk you through it.
Ain't Nobody Here
I use AVG free edition. Not had any virus problems since using it. http://www.grisoft.com/doc/download-free-anti-virus/uk/crp/0 I also use (all free): Ad-Aware SE Personal Spybot Search & Destroy CCleaner Cleanup! (Joojoo beat me to it!)
Cinnamon
Yep, it was me I downloaded AVG, & am more than happy with it. It is way easier to use than Norton & I am delighted
Snowy
Many thanks to you all - will give it a try!
Blackrocksrock
We use it too - its fine and does not have the Norton annoying bits and of course the best thing is its FREE
Richard
I've used AVG for ages. Its really good, and free. Norton caused all sorts of aggro on my computer - interfered with other stuff no end, so I got AVG, must be over 5 years ago, maybe more. little chickadee
I'll add my agreement to the general consensus - No problems since AVG - updates itself frequently but no annoying messages
