Guest
I agree and what's worse is moaning about it and then doing nothing to effect change. I'm grateful for a lot of things we have in this country and I would never leave, even if I won the lottery. I might take a few more holidays but I would never leave. The things that I do disagree with, I do something about, or at least try to. Watch Michael Moore's 'Sicko' that's gives an interesting and shocking insight into healthcare (in many cases lack of it) in the USA, you'd never criticse the NHS again if you watched that. chelsea
Last night I watched the last 20 minutes of a programme about Bulgaria's neglected and abandoned children. It was absolutely harrowing. Even the worst cases of deprivation in the UK are unlikely to come close to the appalling state of affairs in that country.....and they want to join the EEC. Instead of moaning about what we haven't got and what the state doesn't do in this country, maybe we should be thankful for what we have got and for what the state does do, which even though might not seem enough.....it is a heck of a lot more than they get in Bulgaria. Completely agree Eglutine. Somewhere in this thread I also commented on the Serbian children I saw the other day. NOTHING in this country is even comparable to the state of what I witnessed last night. A poor malnutritioned child was left on a bed with a broken leg in pain. Children left on potties all day and even girl without disabilities/mental illness was left in a home to suffer and eventually become affected. I also cannot believe this carries on in Europe. (they reckon there are thousands of children/adults left like this just in Bulgaria).
Snowy
I didn't dare watch it - just the trailers were enough to get me bawling
