Ain't Nobody Here
I'd like to see certain sketches etc but can't bear to sit through the whole thing, I'm afraid. My school (and my actual classroom ) is going to be on BBC1 on Sunday night (they filmed a project we got CIN money for) - only in Scotland I'm assuming though. Guest
I've had to find alternative breakfast listening this week rather than hear Terry stroking his ego with the ridiculous auction for "stupidly rich people who want to look good". Also as a license payer I'm suffering my annual annoyance that programming has been replaced with more "how good can Terry look" and "how generous are the big companies who are getting the huge tax breaks". My year 11 form group were really annoyed this year too, its non-uniform day and a pound to CIN. BUT at the beginning of the summer hols a boy in their year group died of cancer (after everyone thought he had beaten it). They were PROMISED the chance to fund raise for the Teenage Cancer Trust this year and as yet NOTHING has happened and now they are being asked to fund raise for something different and inpersonal to them. I found it hard to give them any justification except to say that the fund raising I was planning later in the year - which may not involve them, will definately be for the Teenage Cancer Trust. I just think that if the kids feel a personal involvement they are willing to go the extra mile for the charity - CIN just doesn't fire their enthusiasm. redfrock
I've had to find alternative breakfast listening this week rather than hear Terry stroking his ego with the ridiculous auction for "stupidly rich people who want to look good". Me too. I've had to ensure I remember to take some CDs out with me - it does make me wonder how many people switch off because of it

Guest
Oh no the Beckhams are worse. They have their own charity which of course makes them look even better than the BBC!

tenzin
BOY ZONE say , it means so much to us that people donate to childrens charities , after there plug about themselfs and there tour , after telling us all there DOT COM link blah blah , yeah of course they care
chickencam
I aggree too much tour plugging etc. If the money that went into putting out the programme went straight to charity they would probably make more. I used too like it but I think that I have turned into a grumpy old woman this year. I also think that this just pays for what the government should be providing in a civilised country. Comic relief at least largly helps people in less developed countries
chelsea
I also think that this just pays for what the government should be providing in a civilised country. Completely agree. After seeing the story of the poor Serbian abandoned children in orphanages last night (it was truly harrowing ) there is nothing in this country as bad as that. tenzin
chickencam " your not going grumpy , it's just we can see though what's going on , maybe your a little wiser . Simon Cowle plugging his singer . Sharon Osbourne getting her fix of weekly fame Louie Walsh plugging BOY ZONE his group It's not about the children in need at all , the BBC could do a better job than bringing thses so called celebraties on the T.V I want to see real people , you know the guy across the road up singing for charity for the TRUE LOVE OF IT ,
Guest
The real people are lucky to get a flash of a camera. Then the BBC will move on to BT or someone giving a huge cheque and fawn all over them giving them a free advert. I've been there and I've seen the look on the kids faces after they realise they are only worth 5 seconds to the BBC. Its very very sad indeed. Popcorn
I'm glad you guys think the same as me about Terry Wogan on radio 2. I did feel a bit guilty thinking ' ' about the people donating huge amounts of money, as it is for a deserved cause, but you're right that it really should never have got this bad in the first place without the government stepping in. I'm flicking between Beeb 1 and Beeb 2 (gardening). I switched off at the Spice Girls and Boyzone. They're only there for their own gain. I'm now watching Get me Out of Here and I'm loving Chris Biggins
Ain't Nobody Here
OMG did you SEE the Spice Girls? I watched 10 minutes - waiting for Corrie - all the others were shot head only but Victoria Beckham had a strapless plungy tarty TOTALLY INAPPROPRIATE dress on with boobs just about pushed up her nose. You could see she was pushing them up with her arms. I suppose they had to film more than her head 'cos she would have looked like she was naked otherwise. Oh yes, it's all about the kids. (And I'm sorry, but I can't listen to Terry Wogan any time of the year.) Rant over .
Egluntyne
The whole evening so far has been lacklustre and frankly boring. The best bits were the chaps from the Bill and the girls from Holby City, oh and the Strictly professionals. Terry is past it and the studio management is a shambles, with mikes not working and people missing their cues. When the go over to "where you are" we go to Meadowhall, which is so obviously deserted that it is embarrassing.
