Lesley
I can't find the last thread on problems with Royal Mail.............. At the time of the strikes in October, I posted about the problems we were having with our mail delivery - we were getting post around twice a week, then we had the strikes - then our deliveries were days late when they resumed service............. most of us on this rural route had to keep complaining and the poor postman was fed up with all the hassle as he was having to comply with new rules which just weren't working. The final straw for me was when we went to pick some mushrooms from the end of the (long) drive and found two bundles of post stuffed under the door of an outbuilding You can see the edge of the house from this building...... the door is all boarded up.... and there is no letter box!! The post had been eaten by snails and I'd missed a hospital appointment I was fuming Both bundles had been delivered by a relief postman just after the strike finished. My complaint that time was passed to the Area Manager. Last week we had post on Monday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday!!!!!!! I spoke to the postman on Saturday......... and the female manager who had been causing all the problems by not listening to the workers had lost her job I wouldn't normally rejoice in the fact that someone had lost their job, but it is entilrely warranted in this case We have two businesses registered at this address as well as personal post - we never have a day without post........ Cinnamon
Lesley,no wonder you are mad - that is really terrible leaving your mail like that Good result though. If a manager cannot do their job, then they really must go
Egluntyne
I wouldn't normally rejoice in the fact that someone had lost their job, but it is entilrely warranted in this case Quite right. If you don't do your job properly you should expect to face the consequences. The relief postie should have been given a rocket too. Never mind that it is a long drive to walk up etc. Isn't that what he is paid for. I take it you won't be leaving a Christmas tip?
sparkleeeeee
thats really bad, i would be really angry. we didnt get a letter about my little boys hospital appointment but luckily they also text you a few days before to remind you. it takes months to get an appointment so i would have been upset to miss it. when we lived in the city our neighbour had her deeds lost in the post. they turned up in a hole on the local heath. the relief postman had buried several week of post in a shallow hole and it was found by a dog walker. chickenlover
Our post is discusting, for years the postman has come in the early morning, then this postman slowly wonders down the street at 3.30pm some times later, on a saturday if he can manage it he comes at 5/6pm. Its a joke
Snowy
That's awful service Lesley, but glad it's been dealt with appropriately. Hope your post is back to normal now! (well, make that better than normal, you know what I mean ...)
Ain't Nobody Here
That's shocking! I can't believe some posties can be so uncaring about people's post - they would be the first to complain if it happened to them, I'm sure. My mum was once waiting for a parcel (luckily just a free gift from a catalogue) and it turned out that the postie had put it in the wheelie bin as she wasn't in but didn't put a note through the door. Guess what happened to it .
One Man Banned
Glad the the problem has been sorted now Lesley. My friend has just split with her husband who has been working as a postie. He's been sorting through the post so neither of them have received anything from the solicitor dealing with the divorce. He walked out of his job on Monday before his investigation decision on Tuesday We all thought he was such a nice guy, but not any more A xx
Lesley
What a horrible thing to do! I had to remake my appointment - but in a different town. I couldn't cope with finding the clinic in a strange town and having to park so Carl had to take time off to take me I have received a booklet of 10 x First Class stamps - I wonder why? - I try not to post anything

sparkleeeeee
i used to walk my dogs on there and there are always bikes and motorbikes roaring around so they might have disturbed it . if i had seen letters poking out of the ground i probably would have picked them out as well. it was in the newspaper as it was obviously alot of post. it was lucky they did get their deeds back, they were stained but if they had been there longer they would have been lost. they had just paid off their mortgage, which is why they were sent them back.
