Guest
Oh I've just calmed down after being on the local bbc radio breakfast programme. I got a call yesterday to speak this morning about anorexia and my work, as it's eating disorders awareness week. I was called this morning and then the next thing I know is I'm on air. Exciting but I was scared I'll tell you. Some deep breathing and 6 minutes later it was all over Glad I didn't run away as first went through my head Has anyone else ever done this or been on tv before? I always thought I had the face for radio! BBx

Nicola H
Well done Buffie glad it all went well ..................I wouldn't be brave enough to appear on T.V. or radio for that matter .
Mrs Frugal
I don't know why it's not remembering you, Buffster. Perhaps it's something on your computer rather than this end. When Graham appears I'll send him a PM to see if it is anything our end thought. I was on local BBC TV with Johannes in July 2004 when my girls arrived as they wanted to do an article about someone with chickens in their back garden! It was great fun but very nerve racking and a whole afternoon of filming was condensed into 5 minutes on screen! Still, it was an experience and well done to you for your radio spot! How exciting!!! buffie
That's great kate you star, hope there's a tape of that somewhere!! I spent an afternoon 2 years ago with a reporter and a cameraman and then had a 2 minute slot on the local news, again about eating disorders. I would love to talk about chicken keeping what great fun! BBx
Mrs Frugal
I think Johannes has a copy and I definitely do! Something to keep for posterity!

Popcorn
Well Done Buffie! It's funny hearing yourself, but even funnier seeing yourself. I was on a Saturday morning kids TV programme when I was 10, and I still have the tape, and boy do I look awful!! Luckily I didn't have to speak...and I did get to meet the popstars of the hour! Cinnamon
I was interviewd for a local BBC news programme about a year ago. They just sort of pounced on me while I was shopping - I didn't have time to do my hair or anything! Luckily for me no-one saw it as it was for the region I was shopping in ,which we cannot pick up here in Henley
Louise
I won a trip to the Pepsi Chart and got in with Dr Fox as he was introducing an act it was so funny as there was me and my mate Amanda on either side of him and he introduced Aleisha's Attic. We looked to where the acts came in and clapped and cheered but the group were actually on film as they taped it for the show earlier in the week but we were told to make it look like they were there And yes I still have it on tape
buffie
The innocence of childhood Gina, We saw they think it's all over being recorded and had to do re takes and clap etc as if it were all new to us, you should have heard the language . Jonathan Ross was great!! BBx
Popcorn
We looked to where the acts came in and clapped and cheered but the group were actually on film as they taped it for the show earlier in the week but we were told to make it look like they were there :lol I had no idea they did that Louise! How bizarre. So, you are clapping at nothing then Didn't you feel short changed at not actually seeing them? Good claim to fame though - I like Neil Fox, he's alright he is
Cinnamon
A few years ago when my daughter was a Brownie they were asked by the BBC to come to a staged "Village Fete" down at Anthony Worral-Thompsons house, then they had to bring their sleeping bags & make like they were camping out on his lawn overnight while he cooked them wonderful camp fire food. It was for Food & Drink I think. It was all really set up & the girls were disappointed to be sent home once the filming ended It was amazing how authentic the staged fete looked on screen, & how good the campfire & sleeping bags bit looked too! Louise
They didn't do with all the acts Lutricia McNeil was live and they had a taped message from Robbie Williams as it was the week he got to number one with Millenium I was really hoping he would be there live but they showed the tape he made and then played his video We then got to go back stage to find out Lutricia had gone (Neil Foxes wife organises the appearances) and all that was back there were the body guards and hangers on that were trying it on with some of the girls so Amanda and I went back to the hotel after a chat with Dr Fox and a few photos

Swiss Chick
Hello so many celeberties in this formum and I can't see or hear one of you what a shame. Was asked to do a TV interview last year to promote foster familes for a 3 month stay of some of the children held hostage in Beslan (Russia) maybe some of you might remember, there were over 300 people killed that day. I was really nervous but since it was for a good cause I did it. The journalist was very nice and the cameraman too, but it was funny how they "draped" you in your own living room telling you how to sit and hold you head etc. My son kept interrupting the interview so we had to find a trick to keep him quiet for 10 minutes. After that the girls came home and they had to pretend to make some room in theirbedroom for our guest to sleep . Then we had to discuss the arrival of the girls in the kitchen whilst I was serving the kids their snack. Needless to say that my kids ate their snack 5 times over since the "script" got changed several times. Then we had to turn the telly on and I had to tell the kids to turn it off in order to do their homework etc. It was a lot of pretend and took over 2 hours to do for a little clip of 6 minutes. The girl by the way arrived, didn't like it at all here and was sent home together with 4 other kids after a week. How embarassing was that especially after all my neighbours had seen me speaking so passionately about the whole affair and we could't make her confortable with us

Swiss Chick
Sorry Buffie, my lack of mastering the lingo properly,.... what do you mean
Popcorn
That was very good of you Sonja, even though the girl only stayed for week. Sounds like a lot of 'tweaking' to get those all important camera shots too! Did they get your good side oh, yes, and Buffie is replying to an earlier post. She's just joking about being a famous celebrity where she would go to the opening of an envelope....a little tounge in cheek, as celebrities tend to turn up to the official 'opening' anything if it gets them publicity I'm sure Buffie would do a splendid job though
Swiss Chick
Thanks Gina for enlightening me Cant' judge Buffie from personnal knowledge but I think too that she would do a good job. (really in a nice way that is) And yes they lit some candles behind me since it was before x-mas so I looked as if I had a halo and I quite liked myself when I saw the tape (which is really rare since I usually hide from cameras of all kind) but hey they were professionals and the message was to incurage people to look after a child and it worked we found host families for all of them. Having said that, maybe I should lend my "angel face" for the rescue battery hens campain...... if it worked with kids .....
Guest
Sorry Sonja BBxand thanks Gina Yes Sonja did you have that wonderful coloured film that makes you look young, they put it over the lights, I asked if i could walk around with the lighting chap permanantly so i'd look like a 30 year old!
