Mrs Frugal
Oh my goodness! I thought it was a message from Stuart in his Grim Reaper role! I thought my number was up for a minute !!! I think we're Chatty Chickens for a good while longer! I don't expect to see any promotion until we reach the heady heights of maybe 5000 postings or even 10,000 (if Mr Reaper hasn't intervened in the meantime!!). Sheilaz
Aaaghh, yes, scary title for topic....what will become of you? How about Eggcentric Egluers...sorry, should have been esteemed egluers.
Mrs Frugal
Oh I don't know, Sheila - I quite like being labelled "Eggcentric" - suits me down to the ground !

motherhen
The polite term used at our tea-table by my totally repelling teenagers and OH to describe us all is OMLETEERS. For the other terms they use go to a Thesaurus and try looking up 'crazy'. Son has announced he can hack into this forum, so if you get some strange postings that appear to be from me - well you know where they probably come from. Sons doing computer science at uni do have their uses when it comes to sorting out computer problems though. It's a shame we don't live nearer to Kate
Helen
I have just noticed that I owe Sarahjo an apology....not only do we have the same colour eglu but the children have named our girls Ginger and Pepper...sorry about that, hope you feel that imitation is the greatest form of flattery!! Your girls are a little older than ours ( and probably laying too more to the point!)
SarahJo
No apology needed ... when I decided to order an Eglu, last year, the kids then 2 and 4 yrs old, settled on the shortened names of Ginger and Pepper .... for the chooks they were having. This worked really well, as they are different chooks in colour, and also lay different coloured eggs .. so saves arguements at breakfast . Yours will soon lay ... and the kids will enjoy them all the more with added eggcitement . Some other , are called Ginger too, so we are not the only ones there ... just the only 2 Peppers I think . Sometimes Joe calls Pepper ... Pecker, or Peckerpop
Lesley
Sarah - only Goats have Kids Sorry - pet hate (one of millions) - as I told my Mother when she announced that she only wanted to be known as Grandma - if she called my children 'kids' then they would call her Nanny
Helen
Lesley..when you say a brood of 10 are they all your children? or is it extended family as well? If the former, how do you find time to breathe ... let alone come on the forum My children chose our chickens, names etc for all the same reasons as SarahJo's did but I didn't realise that they laid different coloured eggs too...even better. We will know who to congratulate when the big day arrives.
Lesley
No Helen - definitely not children!!! It's taken me ages to be able to change my profile and I had to delete my chicken emoticons The Brood of 10 refers to our Christmas present - courtesy of Oxfam (and my sister!) I'll add a photo to my album in Gallery

Sheilaz
No Helen - The Brood of 10 refers to our Christmas present - courtesy of Oxfam (and my sister!) I'm glad you asked Helen, I thought my (or Lesley's) ability to count to 10 had gone. My sis & I both bought the Oxfam chickens too, from me to her & her to me! "Oxfam Unwrapped" was a brilliant idea & will be re-launched soon! (You buy 10 chickens, goat or other offered item & post a card (looks like a gift voucher) telling the recipient that you've "Bought you a goat, but I've sent it to someone who needs it more than you" or something, prob. haven't phrased it exactly. Sure it will be better explained on Oxfam website! The donation is then used to help fund relevant project. Great idea, and solves the "what shall I get the person who has everything" problem.
