*Cleo*
I have 4 bantams and two of them layed last year and two of them have never layed. I heard that bantams are ment to start laying in january- begining of february and my haven't started laying is this normal?
Cinnamon
Cleo!!! I told you not to be so impatient - they will lay when they are ready. Don't worry they won't always be rotten freeloading mini chickens Maybe we should Eprinex them while they are still off lay,so we don't waste any eggs? Eyren
How old are your bantams, Cleo? My Angelica was supposedly POL when I got her in July '06 but didn't start laying until November of that year, and one of the two I bought recently is fourteen months old (according to her previous owner) and hasn't laid yet AFAIK. They're definitely less reliable layers than the big hybrids, but they generally do get there eventually!
Shirl
My 2 pekins hatched in about April last year and they still haven't laid. One has a lovely red comb the other still looks like a babe.
hillfamily
Our Mabel started laying again this week having stopped in September........Millie has starting crouching again so hopefully she'll start laying again soon As your mum says.........you just to be patient but it's very difficult i know
Snowy
Hi Cleo - keeping an eye on your Mum? Hope your banties lay for you soon! They are lovely!
Eyren
My bantams don't crouch like my old Speckledy did, and their combs don't vary in colour as much as hers either, so the only way I know they are in lay is when I find the eggs
Egluntyne
Have you had a look on the **Pekin Bantams Forum** Cleo? There might be info there more specific to your girl.
*Cleo*
I will look on the pekin bantam forum thanks. the two that haven't layed are slightly younger and i got them after the other two. I can home today and checked for eggs there wasn't any but there was a round dent in the middle of the nesting box, i think that it was my oldest sherbert because when she sits down she is perfectly round
