Mac Book Air

Recommended Posts

Ive seen it, Ive used it. Not that good for the price it is, its thin, but thats the only upside, it has NO CD drive, NO standard USB ports (have to get an adapter) Hardly any HDD space, only 1.8GHz processor. For that amount of money, you can get something MUCH better....

I love the look of it, but I would worry I would break it.

Fred, as you are quite an expert in all things technical can you recommend a good laptop for my husband? i am buying him one for his birthday. He likes the Sony Vaio FZ31M and he really loves the Alienware Area 51 laptops but I havent got a clue whats any good! :?

surfing the web mainly, playing games occasionally, he wants a HD one so he can plug into the tv. He wants blu-ray, wifi and with a large memory.

If he only uses it for surfing the web, and occasional game playing, it would be a lot eaiser (and cheaper!) to get a Blu ray player and a laptop

I shall suggest that, thanks Fred  . Any ideas of what makes to avoid or recommend for the laptops?

I agree Fred Sony are good!

Personally i wouldnt go near a Dell laptop as my boss & i have recently been issue one at work and we both think they are awful.

We have experienced a number of problems with them but the worst is when you are typing to send email or entering text into documents as the cursor jumps all over the page and your email never makes sense. It usually happens the you are typing a word with the letters a, i or u in it. :x

Im surprised mine has lasted this long as ive been so tempted to lob it out the window! :x:lol::lol:

Ive got 2 Retro Clamshells in Turquoise and Orange which have been updated to super quick , wireless etc. And whats cute, they have a handbag carry handle. [Chelsea its the same one Aiden buys Carrie on SATC]

I also have a cheap Acer for surfing which is quite good actually for £229

I think the daddy has to be though, Ross' iMac

Funny - Cleo & I were just discussing Carries laptop last night

I am going laptop shopping as soon as my reimbursement vouchers come throught from PC World.

We don't get a whole lot of choice as it needs to have a very fast dedicated graphics card so they can play The Sims

Happy to hear any recommendations.......................
