After much playing about with it, I can confirm that mine also leaks. I get a small amount of water underneath the poo tray opposite the door and also in the nest box. And the hose adaptation doesn't work on mine as the holes are too big and the hose falls straight through!

But I was looking at modifications to the nest area anyway as my hens all fight to lay in the same space. So now I have two small washing up bowls in the nest box, creating two distinct laying areas. Any water that leaks in now runs underneath the bowls and out the drainage hole. 8)

I like that idea. Might try that with mine when it finally arrives - did wonder about chooks fighting over the nest box. DH is also worried they will all stand on each others eggs

Interestingly Omlet are still saying that the problem has been sorted now :? Additionally that I should make sure mine is put together properly when it arrives - I think they are missing the point a bit

Hi Snowy

we found that too on one of them, so Andy wound electrical tape around the hose, and now it is a very snug fit.

Still not good about all our leaky cubes though :(

don't joke! Out of 8 eggs today, 4 are broken - not a problem I have had in the eglu. I was just about to post about it and see if anyone had any ideas. The little minxes keep kicking all the bedding out of the way that I put in the nest boxes

I was going to do that when mine arrived - did think my girls might all fight over the one spot (even though they are quite happy to lay in pairs in the eglu ) Where did you get the washing up bowls from :?::?: I'm thinking that different shops/brands do different sizes of bowls :?:
