Footie League & Banter

Commiserations to Phil and Bolton - it must be totally gutting to lose in the way that they did today. Sounds like it was a fantastic comeback from "Ooops, word censored!"nal, but it doesn't really disguise the problems that we have. I can't see anyone stopping Man U now - whenever they have a bad day, they manage to get a result anyway and because they do, they keep their momentum, steer clear of heaping pressure on themselves and consequently their bad days come round far more infrequently. The title is there for the taking now for them, I reckon.

Edit: For the record, Diaby's sending off was absolutely correct. On another day it could have had a worryingly simliar result to Taylor's tackle on Eduardo and it was refreshing to see "Ooops, word censored!"ne accept the decision without complaint. I like to think that, as with Taylor, Diaby didn't go in intending to cause harm, but these lunging tackles need to be stopped somehow. Hopefully the refs will continue to take a hard line and keep consistently giving straight red cards.

I can't believe it was deliberate by Diaby, Tom - remember Diaby was out all last season cos of an awful tackle by some Sunderland player - it was a sending off - no question though.

Yeah, that's what I said! As with the Taylor tackle, I don't believe he went in looking to cause harm, but the nature of the tackle with him lunging in and stretching for the ball made it dangerous. I think it was simply a heat-of-the-moment tackle that he thought he could win and ended up getting badly wrong, but players like Taylor, Diaby and all the others that have committed similar fouls this season that have gone unpunished need to realise when in the heat of the moment that even if they feel they can win the tackle, it's too risky to go for.

why, thankyou Tom... I am mostly an optimistic kind of a guy who bounces back from most things pretty quickly.... but not saturday - it kind of encapsulated the c.rapness of the whole season for me - just one ounce of hope - always snatched away at the last minute...

even i am struggling now to be optimistic about any chance of us staying up - I almost wish we were "mathematically" relegated then at least i could stop hoping for miracles and forget about it all until next season

(there IS a large part of me that quite looks forward to getting out of the ratrace of the premiership and renewing old acquaintances in the Championship... Wolves is part of our history and it'd be nice in one way to be doing battle again..... 8)

Many thanks lisa33,

I think that's 4 attempts at predicting on my behalf and with the one point gained this week that makes a total of 5 points gained for me  ..

revnev,

I don't think you will be playing Wolves next season as it will be premier league footy for Wolves, (hopefully) via a Wembley win over Worst Br*m, their 3rd Wembley defeat in 12 months Ha Ha.

1st leg of the Worcestershire Seior Cup tonight Redditch United V Worcester City, can't see why the winners shouldn't have a "wild card entry" into the champions league, would seem only fair if they allow Cardiff into the UEFA Cup via the FA Cup!!!!

Went to Parkhead Saturday Celtic 0 Motherwell 1, very funny, 58,000 celtic fans, tears & tantrums, "Strachan must go", "sack the board"-Ace.

bloomin ek "Ooops, word censored!"nal, why couldnt you beat Liverpool?!

I really didnt want Liverpool again in the semi's :( they way we played tonight liverpool might aswell book their flight tickets to moscow. They are SO jammy - stuttery and rubbish in the PL and lucky in the CL.

Now I'm officially in mourning. Out of the CL (Well done boys - Wenger - Can you please buy some players that aren't injured for 90% of season (Eddy excluded as it wasn't his fault) and please get rid of Eboue - I'll pack his suitcase and drive him to the airport). Practically Out of winning the league (Not mathematically yet). :(

But why should I be this upset? At the beginning of the season we weren't even going to finish top four!!

At least Andyman's team are doing well. 1 more point out of the last three games of the season and they (Stotfold FC) wil win the league (Eagle Bitter United Counties League) for the first time in Stotfold FC history.

Well done the Rokermen!!! :D
