baby bears mum
panic has struck. Had call last night from the Wernlas Collection to say my ladies are ready for collection (deep breaths). Will be collecting them on Saturday afternoon (running round the kitchen panicking now!!!!!). Have been out today and bought layers pellets, Verm-X, Mite powder and about a dozen other things that looked quite nice but have nothing to do with chickens Forgot to get grit (even though I bought containers for it while I was there ) and they were out of garlic powder. Need to take a deep breath and calm down BUT I AM SOOOOOOOOOOO EXCITED and so is my daughter (OH just rubbing his head in amusement!!!!!). Hopefully I will calm down before Saturday (yeah right) If there's anything I have forgotten please let me know (have got champagne to launch Cluckingham Palace). I'm going to be a fully fledged (sorry) member of the forum.
Olly
how eggciting! Are you going to break the champagne against the side of Cluckingham Palace, like when they launch a boat? (I do hope not - what a waste!) Congratulations, get the camera ready so you can post some pics.

baby bears mum
Sorry to give you all a shock. Although you've got me wondering what a chicken hyperventilating would look like Hope I posted in the right bit.
Snowy
Great news! Now then, have you got ... garden chair to park at the side of the run garden umbrella in case of inclement weather digital camera with an empty memory card, charged and ready to go photobucket account set up and tested batches of meals for the family cooked and frozen (you won't be able to look after them and chickens for quite a while) the children trained in how to wash, dress and feed themselves I think that's the most important things, if I think of anything else I'll let you know! Egluntyne
An On-line supermarket shopping account might be handy for the first year or two.
susanbb
I often say to my 2 when it is raining, "Get inside". When they ask about me I just say that I'm absolutely fine. Hubs on the other hand does this ...and a whole lot more

craftyhunnypie
How exciting - what sort of chickens will you be getting from Wernlas? Emma.x
baby bears mum
We're having a Buff Sussex (Ginny), a Light Sussex (Hermione) and a Rhode Island Red (Lunar) - can you see the theme. The RIR is for my OH - an easter present from Eleanor - boy is he in for a shock. Absolutely agree with you Chillicat the people on this forum are brilliant and I wouldn't have been so organised (yeah right) if it wasn't for them. You feel really at home really quickly and feel as though you know everyone really well. Am totally addicted to this forum and chickens (do you think there's counselling available). Oooh and I'm also getting better on this computer lark too!!!
