Scooby
I have two guinea pigs in an indoor cage. They are very messy and I find that I have to clean them out every second day and even then they have saturated everything! I've just collected some hemcore for use in our new chicken run and wondered if it would be a good idea to use in the guinea pigs cage? Thought it might be more absorbent which may mean I don't have to clean them out as much. Anyone have any thoughts on this?
Ain't Nobody Here
Don't have guinea pigs but I do use hemcore and love it. I would imagine it would be really good as bedding for any animal - it's certainly very absorbent.
victoriabunny
Have you tried Carefresh? It's not cheap (although you can sometimes buy in bulk from ebay) but it's really absorbent so you use a lot less of it than you would with woodshavings. keeps the smells down too. I used it religiously when my rabbtis were indoor buns. Guineas are messy little things, aren't they?!
pelicano
I use Megazorb - it's very absorbent.
