FORENSICA
Hi, I came back from a trip to Portugal and brought a bag full of sand which contains loads of bits of shells in it. I thought that it could be good for chickens as grit as well as it is full of calcium. However, my mum said I should be careful, since the sand is going to be very salty. What do you think, can I give it to them or not?
Guest
personally, I'd be a bit wary of pollution and salt and such. Maybe if you boil it for a while? I'd prefer to stick to the prepared oyster shell.
chelsea
I would be wary of using it also. Maybe you could find another good use for it?!

Guest
dig it into your soil, it's good for breaking up any heavy soil?
Eyren
The dustbath sounds like an excellent idea - some women pay lots of money for a marine spa treatment
