Janty
Just been looking at the cube winter shade in the Omlet shop. Does anybody have one of these? I was thinking that it might make a good cover for several extensions.
Ain't Nobody Here
I feel the Omlet covers make the runs quite dark . I don't want to harp on (again ) about the corrugated plastic, but it does let in a good bit of light . Tina C
To return to the orginal question, I have the extension shades - my girls free-range most of the time so I am not too worried about the light issue. http://www.omlet.co.uk/shop/shop.php?cat=Chicken%20Extras&sub=general&product_id=209 Vicki's corrugated plastic is very good though. I think she should post a pic

AndyB
Dear Janty, Ive just had my cube delivered on 17 april with a winter shade and i and the chickens woundnt be without it. It has better water proof properties than the small shade that comes with the kit and more importantly sheds water like a ducks back!! i would recommend one Andy ~B
Gallina
The Omlet cube shade is great on the Cube: because the roof is high, plenty of light gets in at the sides. It is the Eglu run that gets a bit dark and polytunnel-like with Omlet shades. But plastic worries me: I can easily imagine going to work on a boiling hot day and forgetting to take it off, and then coming home to fried chicken. Tip for an ancient Omlet shade: I have given one of my Omlet shades a new lease of life by turning it upside down and tying a knot above each of the bungees to make it tauter. I can't say it looks as good as new, but it looks clean and green and better than you might imagine.
Clash City Rocker
I use my old "Eglu winter shade" and the "shade supplied with the Cube", these cover all of the roof area of the run and keeps the run reasonably dry, which is more than can be said for the roof of my Cube which allows leaking into the nesting box!!!!
