fairy&cake
Nia [the last one] will win. Who do you think will win
Richard
Victoria Pendleton won. Wasn't she brilliant. And Bradley Wiggins and Cav in the Madison were awesome. And what about Chris Hoy? Just out of this world. 9 gold medals. Fantastic. I don't know anything about Nia - what country does she ride for?

Classic The World Cycling Champ are - much more exciting than the Boat Race I remember Victoria as a slip of a lass down at Welwyn track. : I couldn't agree more - I'm afraid I find the boat race rather a bore. My son rode the junior national cyclocross outside the Manchester track several years ago, and I went round the course, but I never got to ride inside (never had the opportunity to ride track unfortunatly). I remember Victoria as a slip of a lass down at Welwyn track. Saw the picture of her on her bike, with nothing else on at all - still a very trim lass ..... but amazing the power she has when she sprints. Tina C
Hmm so Richard is a fellow cyclist? I have ridden National Cyclo Cross champs Richard - and I used to do the Eastern league... Many years ago now. Sadly. I never got to ride at the Velodrome.
Richard
I took up cycling late in life. My son was very keen and started off riding Mountain Bikes then moved onto cyclocross. I used to take him to events all over Lincolnshire at first, and then to the national cyclocross events. Since I was driving around with a trailor full of bikes every Sunday I decided that rather than just sit and watch I would ride as well, so I started riding with the vets. I did local time trials and road stuff, cyclocross and MTB around the place (we used to go down to Thetford quite a lot in the early days). The events I really enjoyed were the Polaris MTB orienteering weekends where you went out with all your kit for a weekend in the wild. We rode all over - Keilder, Wales, North York moors etc. Matt and I used to ride in the seniors although I sometimes found a fellow wrinkly to ride as a vet pair. Sadly I don't ride now - haven't done anything for years. My son went to University and discovered women and booze and stopped competing (although he has now started riding a bit again) and it wasn't so much fun by myself. I have a shed full of bikes - road, time trial, cyclocross, MTB and an MTB tandem that her indoors and I used to tour on (the last ride we did was Southern Ireland and the Ring of Kerry - magic). Watching the track riding yesterday has made me promise myself that I'll get them sorted and get out again on the roads this summer!
