Rolo Rabbit
We are now a 2 egg family!!!! :D Bella has been crouching for about a week then this morning she disappeared into the nesting box while the other 2 had their breakfast and as soon as she reappeared we rushed to look but nothing was there. She did that 2 more times (so did we) then the last time there was a perfect 55g egg. We're so proud of her. Babs is getting a bit worried as she is the oldest and we all thought she would lay first but she is crouching so I'm sure it won't be long. Sarah B
Yay!!! Congrats and well done to Bella!!!! What a decent size for a first egg too
Rolo Rabbit
Yes I thought so too. The little man in the fruit and veg shop where I used to buy eggs weighed one of his medium eggs for me the other day and it was bang on 55g so Bella's had a really good start. superjules
Well done Bella! Magpie can only dream of 55g, her biggest effort so far is 48g, although she has laid for 11 days straight, bless her. Sylvie's been laying since Tuesday and has already overtaken her with a 50g today.

TAJ
Well done! It will not be long now until you have a fullhouse I am sure. Our Light Sussex was first, then the bluebelle and last our blackrock - I kept complaining she was supposed to be the most prolific layer of the three - I have to say once she started she hasn't stopped. Well done, Tracy
Rolo Rabbit
We really do have a matching set of chooks Tracy!! My son is a bit miffed as Babs the Black Rock is his and he's very competitive. Even worse that it was his sister's who laid first!! But he keeps telling us that Babs will lay the most.
TAJ
Telling him from me he is probably correct - I cannot recall the last time our blackrock had a day off, after 5 days in a row of 3 eggs a day, the other two have both had a day off and back to 3 eggs today - but the blackrock just goes on now she has started.
