Most eccentric names?

Recommended Posts

We're getting some rescue girls in a few weeks and I have decided to give them 'affirming' names so that they think they're beautiful and glamorous. So they're going to be: Beyonce, Shakira and Keisha (Sugababes). Apparently this is bonkers  .

Does anyone want to contend for the "most bonkers name for a chicken" position? :D

well, if you're going for glamour then I'd have; Audrey (Hepburn), Grace (Kelly) and Merle (Oberon).

If you want eccentric, how about something from good old Shak; Thisbe, Titania and Desdemona :D

lol at those names , cute but how on earth did you get them, doesnt Melissa feel left out

Kazoo sounds like someone playing the zoo (she's a buff Pekin), Not-Kazoo looks almost identical to Kazoo but isn't her (hence the name) and Flinty got her name from a hilarious set of instructions we had that had clearly been badly mistranslated from chinese:

"Please do not use the metal steel brush, the steel wire clean ball flinty snake melon cloth and strong corrosive solvent clean."

Melissa, by the way, is a cockerel.

Thanks, all, for your revealing comments!

The interesting thing is that no-one (NO-ONE!!) has said that it is bonkers to give your chickens 'affirming names'.

I'm trying to decide between Bugblatter and Flinty for most eccentric name, so far!

Quite an interesting image too, picturing someone at the garden door, shouting those names to call the chooks for a treat :D

:lol::lol: I was just pictureing the neighbours

Wait till you take them the vet!

Love those sugarbabes names. Eglutine has names from Strictly come dancing.

Exactly! We've never quite got over the embarrassment of the vet shouting "Pong?" in a crowded waiting room.......

My hubby wanted to call one of our ex-batts "Bad Feet" initially but I vetoed him - she ended up as Hatpin.

Not entering the competition, but we once had a hamster, who due to being bought at Christmas, went under the name of Figgy Pudding.

That's not so strange, but my DD, following in the footsteps of R&B stars, changed it firstly to "F Pidding" and then "F Pu"

We now have a rabbit who gets cards through the post from a friend, addressed to "Mr. Azzie Aslan". He's also affectionately known as "the Smoochy Moomin"
