Beak Missing!!

Recommended Posts

Hi

One of my girls is like this. It looks like shes been debeaked. I have kept my eye on her and it doesnt seem to bother her, she eats and drinks well and forages just the same as the others.

Im not sure but I think I read somewhere that it grows back but I may be wrong there.

Hope this helps

Not too sure if this image helps - this is Mojo unfortunately she is no longer with me but the top part of her beak was always shorter than the lower part.

Quite a lot of ex-battery girls have this but i have never noticed them struggling to eat or drink. The beaks on some of my girls have grown back.

Fatima's beak seems to be growing back, here's some before and after shots, it's taking a long time though but doesn't bother her at, she's the bonniest of all our girls ;)

My girl Vivienne is missing a bit of her top beak. The only issue she has is eating - she can't peck at things so accurately, but it just takes her longer  Being the top hen and having just competition from Queeny means she copes fine with it.

Hers hasn't grown at all and we've had her for a year now.
