Every Friday morning T.Mobile text me with the thrilling information that if I do a £10 top up on a Friday I can have free £10 worth of texts all w.end. Then a couple of hours later they text me the exact same text. Just in case I didn't see the first two, a bit later they text me again  So far today I've had 7 items of junk mail through the door. Four takeaway menus from restaurants, someone offering me Pilate classes, someone offering me his services as a decorator and a local estate agent telling me he has somebody that wants to buy my house now  On top of this I just had a cold call on the telephone from the National Compensation Board, whatever that is? which I didn't listen to because I hung up.

How can I rid myself of all this junk that insists on coming into my life :evil:

The answer to all your prayers

Not quite all, but thanks for this. I think we registered with the no

unwanted phone calls ages ago, but it doesn't seem to stop them

arriving. 99% of our junk mail is delivered by hand by small local

companies, I'm loathe to put a 'No Junk Mail' sign up because it

seems so naff  I did suggest to DH that we made a second

letter box in our front door labelled 'Junk Mail' this would feed directly

to a shredder and we would have instant nest box material

Obviously there is no way of turning off T.Mobile, I will just have to

live with it all :(

we get at least 1 local takeaway menu thru our door every day, sometimes 2 or 3! It's driving me mad but like you, I don't want to use one of those naff signs.

Such a waste of paper and ink as they just go straight into the recycling.

Just something we have to live with and try not let it irritate us I s'pose :lol:

I read in a bill bryson novel (can't remember which one) that he tore up junk mail and sent it back to the sender in their own pre paid envelope

maybe someone local should collect all the menus and deliver them back to the takeaway! I'm not volunteering and I doubt anyone would but can you imagine their faces!

Me too!

I always do it. Make sure you remove you name and address first though.:wink:

I do this too, if I can be bothered. I wish I had the nerve to remove all the unnecessary packaging at the supermarket checkout and leave it there. Mind you it's a bit redundant now because I shop online, changed my life :)
