Clothkits are ba-a-a-ak!

Recommended Posts

Oh my goodness I was only asking someone yesterday if they remembered clothkits.

I knew the woman who did them had a daughter who had set up a interior furnishings kind of place but didn't think they would bring back cloth kits.

I'm so happy :D

they've gone up a bit price wise (in comparison to inflation!)

I grew up in clothlkits with my sister in matching styles (always different colours though) - T - shirts, trousers, shorts, sundresses. I think I may have to order a skirt out of principle (that and the shopping chicken) - how hard can it be???

I even had one of those clothkits homemade dolls (she was black and that was quite cutting edge in the late 70s). Who knows they may still be in th eloft at my parents house!

Nice tiles at the back of the Aga ...

By the way, I am trying to correct the spelling mistake in the subject line of this topic - to put a c before the k - I thought that one just left-clicked on the title line and hold down but it isn't working for me.

Does anyone else remember that the reason Clothkits went out of business was that their computerisation of customer records and ordering went pear-shaped? It wasn't a secret - Clothkits explained it in a newsletter to customers - the computerisation resulted in people being sent the wrong things etc. That's why they had to sell but the buyer tried to make Clothkits like other ordinary mailorder clothing, not keeping going the quirky design and informality and high quality cotton that was Clothkits Unique Selling Point.
