stoice
After having a nightmare yesterday - Some unscrupulous *bleep* had hacked into my ebay account and tried to buy over £600 woth of ipods with my details (All sorted now after several frantic hours of phone calls, emails and password changing) - came home feeling stressed. Went out to check on my 4 ex-batts to cheer me up and there in their nest box were 4 beautiful eggs. The first time ever! The most i had had previously was 3 (dropped anywhere in their house) and one of those always had no outer shell. I've read here about limestone flour and have been adding it to a yummy porridge oats/layers mash/sweetcorn/water mixture (with a sprinkle of dried mealworms). Well it definately works! All shells were hard and considering the girls are busy regrowing their feathers too I'm so proud of them. Anyway, I just thought I'd share this with you all as it was my only ray of sunshine yesterday (Well, all summer so far too eh?)
ChrisP
Aren't they great for cheering you up?! After someone kindly took over £1000 of our money using our credit card details and bank details, came home to them at my feet, and they stayed with me the whole time i was in the garden - rather rare actually! I cant wait to get ex-batts, i really think they sound like such amazing birds and would love to help them like you are

Mel (& Paul)
Chickens really can be a great stress buster - you can spend hours just watching them pottering around the garden and listening to them chooking and boking and clucking and woking

Laura & CTB
There's nothing nicer after a stressful time than to go home, let the chooks out and sit and have a natter with them
