Clare
Hello All, Unfortunatly, due to re-location abroad we are going to have to re-home our lovely chooks. They will be sadly missed as they are lovely ladies. We have 3 gorgeous girls, Maggie, Maisy and Martha. Two Ginernuts and a Miss Pepperpot. All 3 of our birds are laying beautiful eggs and have unique personalities. Martha - Mother of group. The buck stops here. Do as you're told or else. Lovely lady. Very cuddly. Medium Eggs. Maisy - Too big for her boots. Teenager. Thinks she rules the roost. However, loves cuddles and strokes. Huge eggs! Maggie - The baby girl. Can be shy but is developing more and more of an outgoing personality. Looks like Kate Moss. Small/Med Eggs. We are relocating at the end of July and would like a kind loving family to adopt out wonderful chooks. Unfortunatly the Egglu will not be supplied as we are planning on adopting more chickens in Spain and so this will have to come with us. We would like to keep them until the end of July if possible as we will be very sad to see them leave us. They each have their own personality and have become part of our family. We haven't had them very long either ;( ... We have watched them grow and want the best for them. If anyone is interested please do contact me as I would love to see them go to a loving home. We are based in Aldershot, Hampshire. Thank you Clare
Mrs Frugal
Hello Clare, What a lovely but sad post. You obviously love your hens very much so I hope that you're able to find a new home for them where they'll be loved just as much. I'm much too far away to help (and LSH would go berserk if I had any more hens ) but good luck and I hope someone is able to help.

Clare
Thank you all for your kinds words of support. We have only had the chooks for a short while but it is amazing how quickly they develop their own personalities and traits. We will all miss them and their eggies Fingers crossed someone loving can give them a home as they really deserve it. They are not much hassle at all and they provide lovely eggs. I think mum and I will be emotional when they do finally go Clare

Cinnamon
Hold on a mo Clare - its early days yet. This is a large forum & I am sure someone will be along in the next few days who can help you out. Have you looked into the option of locel farms/petting zoos?
Dodge
Hi Clare, I would like to offer to re home your 3 girls. At the moment we have 2 girls rattling around in a pink cube, and I have been keeping my eye out for an opportunity to increase my flock. We live about 1 hour from you, so no problem picking them up. Our girls are spoilt rotten, and I can promise you that we will treat your girls the same. I hope that you will consider my offer, and will gladly answer any questions you may have. Kind regards Dodge

Clare
Thank you all so much for your kind offers and sweet words regarding the girls. I am overwhelmed there are so many kind hearted people out there willing to take on the girlies. I am currently at work but I will speak to the family tonight and see what their views are on this and get back to you all. I would like to thank you all very much Clare xx
BeckyBoo
I was also too slow but in case ALLLLLLLL those others fall through I'm in Bisley, we lost a battery hen recently so we're down to 12 - can quite happily accomodate your three if required. Have a fab time in Spain, my dream is Portugal but that's a LOOOOOONNNG way off yet. We'll expect pictures of your spanish Eglu! Dodge
Hi Claire, It has been a week since you posted to have your chooks re-housed. As I have heard nothing from you, am I to assume that you: A: Have re-housed them and do not need any further help? B: Changed your mind and are no longer moving to Spain? C: Forgot all about it? You were quite desperate last week, and as a result a number of people including myself responded with offers of help. I was under the impression that you would be getting back to us once you had spoken to your family over last weekend. Perhaps you would be kind enough to advise us of your current status and intentions. My offer still stands, but I would like a reply so that I can move on to other sources if necessary. Regards Dodge
Rhapsody
I see someone else didnt bother to read the sticky at the top of this page...
Mrs Frugal
If that's the case, Rhapsody, we're looking into how rehoming requests could be handled in the future to avoid disappointment. We thought the rehoming sticky might be enough but we may need to have another think .
The Dogmother
I have emailed 'Clare' (good name ) to ask if she'd mind letting us know what the situation is. It's only fair that she should as so many people have gone out of their way to try to help.
Mrs Frugal
Hopefully she's just got waylaid and will be able to let us know what the situation is regarding the hens very soon. Fingers crossed for you, Dodge.
Clare
Hello All, My apologies for not getting back sooner. Unfortunatly a number of personal things have happened recently which delayed my reply in getting back to you all. I had not simply "Forgotten" about my post as some had suggested! I do apologise for the delay and I thank you all for your kind words and offers for re-homing the chooks. I was overwhelmed by the response and was so pleased to see there are some lovely kind hearted people on the forum. I have kindly taken an offer to re-home Maggie, Maisy and Martha from Mim and Jason who live not far from us and are due to collect the girlies in July. Thank you all again and I am sorry I did not get back to you sooner. Clare x
