Call me Hyacinth - I've joined the country club!

After the joining fee the monthly payments are only 2 quid more than the pants gym I was in last year. Mind you I have to pay for James too. I get the lower rate membership for being a teacher.

Its brilliant - I book him in to a kids activity (all included in his membership) and then I go to the gym, after we both go swimming.

At my old gym I wouldn't use the pool despite loving swimming as the changing rooms were filthy and dark! The changing rooms here are AMAZING, clean and full of stuff - shampoo, conditioner, hand lotion, hairdryers, steam room, sauna (single sex ones in the changing rooms) even a free tanning booth! And the pool is superb, the roof opens up (it was open today) and its clean and inviting - also isn't full of teenagers, this afternoon everyone had their kids. James was in heaven - I never take him swimming as I can't stand public pools.

Going to be lots of hard work in that gym now to tone up my new body!

No squires - This is Essex! Landowners here run boot sales.

I hope being such a nice place inspires me to work harder - the machines are amazing too - the treadmills have personal TV screens on and aircon vents on the top!

My local pool is :vom: it is so disgustingly dirty but in July a brand new pool and gym are opening  I'm really excited about it but just hope they're not going to charge an arm and a leg for the privilege (there are rumours of £5 per swim!)

I definitely think you'll use it if it's a nice place and so exercise seems less like a chore and James will love the pool, I was a fish when I was his age!

Can I just congratulate you on your weight loss, I've read some of your blog and it's amazing how much you've lost and your determination, I think I would have succumbed to a KitKat!
