hils78
By the way just how many chookies can you get in that barn (you may need a bigger mortgage to get the chookies). I recon there's floor space for well over 100 - so a definate call to DEFRA would be needed! We could def be a pick up point for BHWT. My OH & I would like about 20 chickens with 1 HUGE cochin cockeral. The rest of the barn would be filled with the rest of our wee beasties & a pair of Alpacas - we wish
Olly
ooh it looks lovely! And I can picture where that is (lived in Loughborough for many years). fingers crossed for your offer.
AJuff
You lot are funny! When I was 20 & houses were VERY cheap & I was playing in a band earning I managed to buy this house 'nearly' outright. Its now paid off. I'm only a vet nurse p/t. The OH is in a similar situation to me but he has a fantastic job as a concept artist (has to draw things like unicorn foals all day long ) but is on a good wage too. The house is quite cheap really for all you get £250k. We don't actually live together in the same town yet so it would be amazing to get this house as our first home together. We wouldn't move again! I'll try & find the details. Wow what a lovely house and a fantastic price. Here in Northumberland that house and land would cost £400k. Good luck with your move, do keep us posted whent he new dream flock arrive!!

I could come to you for my next lot of rescue hens! You would probably be even nearer than Adele. I could even help out at the rescues. I'm getting quite excited for you! hils78
We're still waiting on a decision from the estate owners. (belongs to the local estate). As far as I can tell I think that 3 people have put in offers, us being one of them. Reading betweent the lines I think that 2 of us have given the asking price & the other just under. The estate agent said that they can see it going to highest & final bids . I think we'll need councelling if we dont' get it. eek!
lizinsa
The place looks amazing! I'm a real believer in fate and what will be will be, but I'll keep my fingers crossed for you In this market, I'd expect the owners to go with the people in the best position and not necessarily the best price. If it goes to final offers you need to set out how quickly you can move and if you have all your finances and solicitors etc in place, it really can make the difference especially in today's market. GOOD LUCK and please keep us posted
Egluntyne
I think we'll need councelling if we dont' get it. eek! I think we'll need counselling if you don't get it! Crossing everything crossable.

Ain't Nobody Here
Just caught up with this! What a lovely house - I really hope you get it . Do you know when the decision's being made?
Earthchild
Like the others have said, it's not how much is offered but how stong your offer is - if everything is in place and you can complete without too much hassel then you will stand a good chance of getting it. But just in case I have got my fingers and toes crossed for you :D
MedusA
What a fabulous place! Fingers crossed you get it.
hils78
Well it looks like we're not going to get it There is someone waiting with cash & is willing to go way above the asking price. Understandably the estate owner is looking for a clean easy process. Def not us! so....we have to swallow our disappointment & wait for the offer we have just made on the other house http://www87.vebra.com/cgi-win/vebra.cgi?details2?src=49&firm=11031&branch=1&prop=119555 There is a bit more land with it which is half the garden behind what is shown on the details. lisa33
So sorry you're not going to get your house. It wasn't meant to be and there will be a reason for this. Hopefully you'll get the other one.

leebee
Gutted for you Sometimes deep down you know when something is not going to go your way, but just like what your doing, you move on I saw a house just right for us, right price, right area and within 1 day it had gone STC. About 2 weeks later the agent sent the details to me and i phoned them just to check, and it was back on the market! We have been here for 2 years now, so you never know! chickenanne
It's so disappointing when house purchases / would-be purchases fall through, you have my sympathies! However, is not the only house in the world, you will find something else. And over-sized outbuildings end up being a liabliity most of the time, or at least a constant drain on the £££....
