Guest
You mean you are passing on Big Brother for Eurovision??! Tut,tut!
Cate in NZ
What, do we get the choice of Eurovision and BB on the same night Let me guess, football on all the remaining channels Actually I have to say that I have watched Eurovision most years, the voting irritates me, the songs either have me screeching in hysterics or watching in stunned silence, but I love Terry Wogan's commentary Unlikely to be watching this year though, and I'm sure that we have no chance, song not good enough and not enough Eurpean political allies to drag in the votes. The red wine sounds like a good idea though
Mrs Blue Sky
I've had half an eye on it... fantastic! I particularly like the Portuguese hoofing birds (very caravan site), Iceland, and of course the very magnificent Norway. Who you voting for mollythecolly? Martin B
Isn't it on Saturday?
One Man Banned
As Eurovision is such a big thing now with so many countries they hold it in two parts - the semi finals for those countries who didn't score very well in the Final the year before Obviously United Kingdom will never have to "qualify" for Eurovision as we pump so much money into it And the Final will be on Saturday Martin I'll be watching in my caravan in campest Brighton! Popcorn
Obviously United Kingdom will never have to "qualify" for Eurovision as we pump so much money into it ....which sort of leads you to believe it's all a fix! (was that a bit cynical!)
One Man Banned
....which sort of leads you to believe it's all a fix! (was that a bit cynical!) Do you think so ? hehehe I wonder how the "pally" voting goes this year - nowt political about Eurovision is there I can't forgive them for sabotaging Gemini a few years ago - as a singer I know that if you don't have your in ear feed you may not be in tune - on analysing the song they sang it was actually sung in tune - when the backing track that we heard was removed - they didn't get their backing track to sing to! Thanks to Tony Blair and that war!! Anyway Gina, what are you doing up at 5.05 in the morning!!??!! Still not comfortable at the mo?
Louise
I'm afraid i always watch it as it is so funny with some really dreadful songs I am sure one of the baltic states must be due to win again and as the UK has upset so many over the war etc we are possibly going to get a big fat 0 again Oh the song being awful might help us acheive that as well Happy days pass the red wine Andrew
Guest
Yes, we'll be watching! It's such fun! Wine, beer, popcorn. And I love the voting. OH has a spreadsheet on his lap-top into which he types all the voting scores so that we can refer back and see if the 12 points from one country was reciprocated by the other etc! I had to miss last night's semi because I was at DD1's college concert. Have fun in Brighton! It's the Brighton Festival at the moment (I was there last Sunday) and there's loads on. Chinese State Circus, Lady-Boys of Bangkok. Morris men and women EVERYWHERE!
One Man Banned
We downloaded the "scorecards" from Radio2 and they will update the one for the final on Saturday this afternoon (with the names of ALL countries performing on Saturday) http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio2/eurovision/2006/playground/scorecards.shtml We usually have a Euro Party for Eurovision something of a camp tradition I spose, LOTS of wine, vodka, pizza and takeaways and nibbles and LOTS of jeering, cringing etc! Promise not to make too much noise in the caravan over the weekend! (reading that back sounds mucky!!!) Also got a bit excited about the new house we've been looking for - found a fab 30's place thats in original condition so postponing the leaving time tomorrow so that we can go and view it (may need to come back and get our house on the market PDQ) I must be off actually - have to be in work at 10! Boris70
I can't wait. Terry Wogan is the best - without his comments it wouldn't be the same. Yes, I am a 20 something, with wine - is this a trend we are setting?
