String-type bags

Recommended Posts

Anyone know where I can acquire cheap string-type bags to use to put greens in for my over-indulged scoffalots?

I have been hand-feeding them lettuce and cabbage has been put on a hook, but I'm worried about them hurting themselves on the hook in their feeding frenzy and cannot hand-feed them all day. Have to come to work to earn money for cat food and chicken feed

Many thanks in advance.

Laura can I ask, your bird food feeder, does it swing from the ceiling or is it attached to the run sides? I put some dandilions in mine and it's hanging swinging freely from the ceiling and it totally freeked them out they didn't like it swiinging around near them at all even if the wind blew it! And I know that it's one of their favourite things dandilions.

Many apologies for posting this in two places. I didn't realise I could only post under one heading.

I have tried the suet feeder, but it is far too small to hold enough for the scoffalots, as they can get through lettuces in seconds. I haven't tried onion nets, as I don't buy them in nets, but I certainly could do. I'll have a hunt round google and will post a link if I find anything suitable and reasonable.

I'll also bear in mind the flapping around in the wind issue, as my little monsters won't like that either, but was thinking of hanging the bag on the current hook, as the hook will then be too high for them to get to.

Oh, the things I do for my thoroughly spoiled little ones ...

You could use the stuff theat the oranges and veg come in from the supermarkets. Its a sort of plastic string bag. If you buy several you could string them together to make one the sixe you want.

Sorry I havent read the other posting so I dont know if this has already been suggested.
