Just when you thought you'd seen it all!!!!

Recommended Posts

I would imagine that the leather is a by-product of the chicken meat industry in the same way as most of the leather used for shoes/bags/belts etc. in this country and Europe is a by-product of the beef industry.

A lot of chicken is eaten in Thailand so it would make sense to use the skin?

I wouldn't buy it - but I don't buy any leather........

I have actually seen these so called chicken leg wallets, purses, bags & belts for sale in Thailand. However, they were definitely only chicken patterned - not real leather or skins. They also had elephant, shark, crocodile & sting ray skin patterns. I can honestly assure you, that the ones we saw were not real skins!

But elsewhere in Thailand & all over the world - yes there probably does exist things we would rather not see or think about (ivory, coral, tortoise shells, monkey fur) :(
