ali-s
TK Maxx have replaced their gaudy orange and yellow reusable bags with a super jute version. Very roomy with padded handles. I bought one today and even with some quite heavy items in it the padded handles made it easy to carry. Cost £1.

Hellcat
Arrgghh! Don't have a TK Maxx near us -(wish I did, used to have one where I lived before) but really like the sound of those bags! Any one fancy sending one to me?
bunee1
How about Turtle bags the ultimate string bag you can fit an amazing ammount into them and when you buy one a small donnation goes to rehabilitating turtles who swallow carrier bags mistaking them for jelly fish. i love mine it's bright magenta but they come in all colours. http://turtlebags.co.uk/_wsn/page7.html check out the web site or i can post you one £4.99 ish i think
Guest
I think I may have to order myself a pinky-pink one! They are fab! Isn't it funny how things have gone full circle - a few years ago, no-one would consider being seen in public with a string bag (unless you were a granny, or a total trendsetter slightly ahead of your time)! The Dogmother
I always end up carrying so much back from town that I am thinking of getting a shopping trolly - does anyone know of a trendy looking one?
melcotton
I would be interested in the answer to this one too Clare. I am nearly past the pushchair days and I'm really not sure what I will do without it on the way back from town! Mel
The Dogmother
Yup, prams and buggies are ideal for carrying the shopping. I only go down into town once a week as I am at work during the week, so the stuff I need tends to mount up and it's uphill all the way home I'd like a trendy, collapsible one, might have to make do with a bright one and customise it The Boy thinks the idea of a shopping trolley is so

The Dogmother
Hey Jackie, thanks for that I love the ones in the first link and have emailed them to see if they will sell one to me (they're wholesalers), the Picasso one on the last link is totally fab, but £75 I hope that I hear from the first lot as that is just what I am looking for. I may be wrong, but didn't India ban the use of plastic bags last year - this was one of the reasons, along with the fact that they were clogging up India's antiquated sewerage system... the India Plastic Bag Corporation (or some similar body) was bleating about the loss of jobs... ali-s
The Turtle bags look very good I had a similar bag for school back in the 70,s. It had bamboo handles. Although then you HAD to line it with a carrier bag , either a Top Shop or Chelsea Girl bag My collection of reusable bags is growing, but I often forget to take them with me when I go shopping which really annoys me. The Dogmother
I got an email back from that site with the jazzy bags, but they are all over £40 and the nicest ones are £75 . I'll be giving that a miss then Thanks for the links though Jackie
