Hi ya guys,

Well I posted on here the other week about noisy Pecky clucking loudly at 5am and now Matilda thought she'd have a go at 7am this morning. Went out there to quieten them, came in and she gave another loud cluck and then went quiet, Pecky joined in a little too.

Just wondering anyone got any tips on keeping them quiet? We do leave the eglu door open every night and that has worked well. It's only the second time they have made a noise in the morning. We just think it's because maybe they heard something/something alarmed them. They were not laying at the time either. It does make me panic when they start that racket!! cause of the neighbours!!

close the door at night, cover the eglu with a dark cover and keep a routine (i.e let them out at the same time every morning). :)

I have noisy girls and it works for us, we let them out 6.45-7am every morning and we dont hear a peep out of them, if I left the door open my lot would be out at 4.30am, would have eaten breakfast by 5am and then would be bored - so would start making noise.

I agree totally. I tried leaving the doors open and they went mad at about 4ish in the morning. I close the doors now and put a thick blanket over the top. I have also started letting them out at a regular time and they are fine except for Buffy the brahma who thinks that she is a goose but she honks constantly anyway.
