deejmum
Anyone got any ideas about this one? Do you think it's from a white layer or a brown layer [/img]
Phosphorus
I would say a brown egg layer and the pigment as gone a bit screwy Not sure why though
Lewis
Apparently you can wipe the pigment off if you get the egg fresh enough, but I've seen Matilda lay an egg (I was sitting in the copp at the time ) and I picked it up to see if it was true and the colour stayed on, so it could just be a myth. Helen&Lee
Has she just started laying? My Speckledy laid her first egg on Monday, it had a cream shell, Tuesday's cream with dark spots and today's egg had a dark brown shell - which was what I was expecting her to lay. deejmum
She started laying about three weeks ago(if it is pip pip who i suspect it is). She regularly lays double yolkers and softies, and her second egg ever was a triple yolker! However this two toner is another thing altogether! She certainly likes to keep us guessing! chickencam
We had an egg like this a few weeks back, was the surface a bit rough where the lighter pigmentation was?

deejmum
When I first read this I thought it said tonne , as in the weight. Was expecting to see a MAAAASSIVE egg, then became slightly . xx Oh how I laughed when I saw your post scrambled!
dancing cloud
I sometimes find brown/white marbled eggs as well, and the white part is always rougher on the surface. Don't know why, but it doesn't seem like anything to worry about, and the eggs taste just fine
Snowy
Mine occasionally do eggs like that. I think the white is extra calcium deposits. Don't think it's anything to worry about, just another egg anomoly! (sp?)
